During November 13-17, 2023, the Associate Professor of the Department, Dr. Of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor Iryna Ablieieva took part in the Research & Innovation Week within the framework of the MIRAI 2.0 program. MIRAI 2.0 R&I Week serves as a unique opportunity to strengthen collaboration between Sweden and Japan in research, innovation, and education. This in-person event brings together researchers, students, and university management from all 20 Swedish and Japanese MIRAI 2.0 member universities, as well as research funding agencies and policy makers. This event was hosted by Umeå University (Sweden) and sponsored by Scandinavia-Japan Sasakawa Foundation.

Iryna Ablieieva was a co-organizer of the workshop together with two colleagues Karin Tonderski, Associate Professor, Department of Management and Engineering - Environmental Technology and Management, Faculty of Science and Engineering, Linköping University, Sweden; and Kazuei Ishii, Professor, Laboratory of Sustainable Cycle Systems, Faculty of Engineering, Hokkaido University, Japan. The workshop was focused on the Utilization of Digestate for Sustainable Cycle Systems of Carbon, Nitrogen and Phosphorus. During the workshop collaborative discussions and a friendly atmosphere were created with the promise of further cooperation between the participants.

Iryna Ablieieva provides research in the direction of anaerobic digestate quality, digestate valorization and application as biofertilizer, effect of the Carbon accumulation in the soil, etc. We hope for joint grant fundings of Sumy State University projects with Swedish and Japanese academia.
