On February 28, 2023, a meeting of bachelor's level education major 101 "Ecology" was held with Deputy Head of the Department of State Environmental Supervision (Control) of Water Resources - Senior State Environmental Protection Inspector of the State Environmental Inspection in Sumy Oblast Vitalii Lytvyn. The guest lecture-discussion was devoted to the topic "Impact of military operations on the natural environment".

Vitalii Mykolayovych spoke about the load on individual components of the environment and the possible consequences, given the high level of pollution. The environmental problem, which is extremely relevant today, has raised many questions about the types of pollution today, what consequences of military operations in the territory of the Sumy region we are currently observing, and what measures are necessary in the future to reduce the burden on the environment and minimize the consequences of hostile actions. The students were also interested in the main tasks and responsibilities of the State Environmental Inspection in this context, and what methods are used to calculate the damage caused to the environment.

At the end of the meeting, together with the guarantor of the study programme, Iryna Ablieieva, they discussed the prospects of conducting pre-diploma practice for 4th-year students at the DEI base in Sumy region, and the participation of inspection representatives as co-supervisors of bachelor's qualification works.
