Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Technologies Dr. Yelizaveta Chernysh presented a joint work with Czech colleagues on the topic "Biopotential of agricultural waste: production of biofertilizers and biofuels". The author's team also included other academic staff of the department, in particular senior lecturer Dr. Iryna Ableyeva, PhD students Viktoriia Chubur and Polina Skvortsova.
Senior teacher of the department, Ph.D., Assoc. Prof. Iryna Ablieieva has received an individual grant under the program of non-resident scholarships for Ukrainian scientists from Universities for Ukraine (U4U). The purpose of this program is to match Ukrainian researchers and scientists (qualified applicants) with vacant sponsors (colleges, universities or research institutes) who provide remote financial support for research activities to each selected participant in the form of unconditional grants.
Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Technologies, Doctor of Technical Sciences Yelizaveta Chernysh, who is the Director of the International Innovation and Applied Center "Aquatic Artery", took part in the Informal Meeting of EU Water Directors, which took place on November 20-22, 2022 in Prague (Czech Republic). This is a regular meeting of EU water directors and representatives of the European Commission on topical water issues, as well as on improving and harmonizing the implementation of legislation in the field of water environment protection, in particular the Water Framework Directive.
On November 14, 2022, a lecture from the discipline "Environmental Impact Assessment" was held for students of specialties 101 "Ecology" and 183 "Technologies of Environmental Protection". The lecture was conducted by Inna SHKROBOT, Head of the Department of Environmental Assessment, Monitoring, and Economies of Nature Use of the Department of Environmental Protection and Energy of the Sumy Region State Administration. The subject of the lecture, according to the syllabus of the discipline, was "Assessment of the impact on atmospheric air".
As part of the development of cooperation with the Masaryk Research Institute, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Technologies Yelyzaveta Chernysh took part in the international conference "Wastewater", held on October 19-21, 2022 in Slovakia. She took part in the poster section on "Food waste co-treatment with wastewater: a case study under footprint approach", which was developed in co-authorship with Czech colleagues.
Senior lecturer Iryna Vaskina completed a 3-month scientific internship at the Department of Construction and Geoengineering of the Poznan University of Natural Sciences.
Five beautiful days under the ERASMUS+ program at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin (Poland)
Roman VASKIN, Associated Professor at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies, Sumy State University (Ukraine) took part in project ERASMUS+ No. 2021-1-PL01-KA131-HED-000003560 at the Department of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy, University of Life Sciences in Lublin. The program lasted from October 3 till October 7, 2022.
In the period from September 8 to October 8, 2022, Associate Professor Roman Vaskin hold a scientific internship on the topic of Research on biogas production processes from agro-industrial waste at the Laboratory of Ecotechnologies of the Poznań University of Natural Sciences (by supervision of prof. Jacek Dah).
The 6-month scientific internship of the Senior Lecturer of the department, PhD, Associate Professor Iryna Ablieieva, which she is taking at the invitation of her colleague Alex Enrich Prast from Linköping University, Sweden. The internship takes place on the basis of the Department of Thematic Studies – Environmental Changes of this university. The goal of the academic mobility program is to increase the level of practical training in conducting experimental studies on the determination of carbon content in digestate and carbon accumulation in soil when using digestate as fertilizer on the basis of a chemical analysis laboratory.
October 6, 2022 senior lecturer of the department, Ph.D., Associate Professor Iryna Ablieieva, at the invitation of her colleague Alex Enrich Prast from the Linköping University, Sweden, participated in a webinar lecture for students of higher education studying at this university under various programs, including exchange programs for foreign students.
