Staff of our department continue the presentation of scientific achievements and participated in the international conference "Priorities of the New Green Course Strategy" held online in Lublin, Poland on June 17.
During the week of June 7-11, 2021, a senior lecturer of the department of applied ecology and environmental protection technology, Ph.D. Iryna Vaskina was at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin (Poland) as part of the Erasmus + Academic mobility program (ERASMUS+ KA1: Staff mobility for teaching).
On June 15, students of the TS-91 group of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of SSU together with teachers Serhiy Shevchenko and Oksana Burla went to the practice. The first location was the engineering structures of the sewerage system for treatment, disposal and disinfection of wastewater. Students got acquainted with the process of wastewater treatment and saw the facilities through which the treatment takes place. Everything was interesting and informative, future ecologists received a lot of useful information.
Research staff of our department participated in two seminars held on June 12 as part of research projects on grants for multidisciplinary research groups from the AgriSciences platform, which included researchers from Sumy State University, Dnepr State Agrarian and Economic University and the Czech Natural Sciences University in Prague.
On June 3, Yelizaveta Chernysh, Assoc. Professor in our department, gave a lecture at Dr. Hynek Roubík's Biogas research team (Czech Natural Science University in Prague) and participated in a workshop to prepare for State Exam Rehearsal on PhD thesis presentation in the research team.
After creation in March 2021 of the International Innovation and Applied Center “Aquatic Artery” based on the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of Sumy State University, in April and May planned on-line consultations with partner organizations from Europe and Asia were held.
Staff of our department continue to present research developments at international conferences in collaboration with foreign colleagues in the field of environmental protection and environmentally friendly technologies: Associate Professor Dr. Yelizaveta Chernysh and PhD student Victoriia Chubur became participants in a series of scientific events the International Conference on Sustainable Futures: Environmental, Technological, Social and Economic Matters (ICSF), held at the Krivoy Rog State Pedagogical University from 19 to 21 May 2021. ICSF contributes to all aspects of sustainable development, focusing on the intersection of such areas as sustainable development, environment, and technology, as well as the development of areas of cooperation for universities, government agencies, educational and research institutions.
From May 13 to 15 online meetings with representatives of the Institute of Low Temperature Science, Hokkaido University (Japan) were successfully held in the framework of the International Innovation and Applications Center "Aquatic Artery", carrying out its activities based on our department. At the meetings, the directions of joint activities within the framework of the Center "Aquatic Artery" were discussed in detail, in particular, the director of the Center "Aquatic Artery" Yelizaveta Chernysh, D.Sc., associate professor of our department, made a presentation of the project proposal "Sustainable Combining Bioprocesses and Advanced Oxidation Processes under Wastewater and Sewage Sludge Management".
Associate Professor of our Department, Head of International Innovation and Applications Center "Aquatic Artery", D.Sc. Yelizaveta Chernysh held an open lecture (6 may 2021) for Slovak students of the Department of Environmental Management, University of Prešov in Prešov on "Wastes Recycling with Production of Biofuel and other Bio-based Products".
On April 20, 2021, the All-Ukrainian Scientific and Technical Conference called "Modern Technologies in Industrial Production" in the field of "Ecology and Environmental Protection" was held on the basis of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of Faculty of Technical Systems and Energy Efficient Technologies.
