Dr. Hynek Roubík, head of the Biogas Research Team, together with colleagues, PhD students Marek Jelínek (Biogas Research Team) and Jan Staš and Eduardo Duque Dussan (Food Security Research Team) from Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (Czech Republic), visited the Department of Ecology and Environmental Technology for a short working visit.
November 19-20, 2021 senior lecturer of the department, Ph.D. Iryna Ablieieva, participated in An International Conference on Nurturing Innovative Technological Trends in Engineering BIOscience NITTE-BIO-2021, organized by Department of Biotechnology Engineering, NMAM Institute of Technology (Nitte, Karkala Taluk, Karnataka, India).
On November 24, an open online lecture by an invited foreign lecturer prof. Alex Enrich Prast (Linköping University, Sweden) on the topic “CH4 and N2O dynamics in the Amazon Basin” was held. The key audience was the applicants for 101 "Ecology and environmental protection" and 183 "Technologies for environmental protection" of the first and second courses. The chosen topic of the lecture ensured its interdisciplinarity in the context of the educational components "General ecology (and neoecology)", "Soil science" and "Hydrology and hydrobiology".
Under the cooperation of Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies Sumy State University with the Regional Office of Water Resources (ROWR) in the Sumy region, currently represents a branch of our department, carried out laboratory analysis of the physical and chemical composition of experimental samples on the research topics of our department with the involvement of graduate students and students of specialities 101 "Ecology" and 183 "Environmental Protection Technologies" to train standard analytical methods of analysis skills.
Postgraduate students of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies Serhiy Lutsenko and Ilona Yanchenko (supervisor – Ph.D. Iryna Ablieieva) within the grant "Short-term research on the basis of the biogas laboratory of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine" according to the project “Interuniversity cooperation as a tool to enhance the quality of selected universities in Ukraine”, funded by the Czech Government (in cooperation with the Czech University of Natural Sciences, Prague), on November 8, 2021 made a trip to the biogas laboratory of the Bioenergy Association of Ukraine – UABIO (Kyiv).
PhD student of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Technologies of Sumy State University, Viktoria Chubur together with colleagues from the National Technical University "Dniprovska Polytechnika", National University of Life and Environmental Sciences of Ukraine and Lviv State University of Life Safety took part in a scientific internship in Technical University of Bergakademie Freiberg (TUBAF), Germany during a month from 20 September to 20 October 2021, in the DAAD programme «Ecomining: Development of Integrated PhD Program for Sustainable Mining & Environmental Activities».
October 12, 2021 senior lecturer of the department, Ph.D. Iryna Ablieieva, at the invitation of her colleague Alex Enrich Prast from the Linköping University, Sweden, participated in a lecture-webinar for 12 undergraduate students. The seminar was part of the course "Sustainable Development in the Global Perspective", which focuses on major global impacts and the Agenda 2030.
At present, the world's leading universities are paying more and more attention to their activities in the context of achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals for the period up to 2030. An integral part of this approach is the greening of higher education institutions.
As part of the activities of the International Innovation and Application Center "Aquatic Artery", working on the basis of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies, the Horizon Europe International Seminar was held to prepare a joint project proposal on certain areas of implementation of the Horizon Europe grant program. The meeting was moderated by Yelizaveta Chernysh, associate professor in our department, D.Sc., director of the Center.
As part of the implementation of joint research projects with Biogas Research Team (group leader – Associate Professor Dr. Hynek Roubík) of Czech University of Life Sciences Prague (Czech Republic) received a mini grants funded by the Czech government through the grant platform AgriSciences Platform for Scientific Enhancement of HEIs in Ukraine, which is involved in research activities of the research association (circle of young scientists, PhD students and students) "Experiment in ecology and environmental protection technologies", forming at the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies, the head of which is Dr. Yelizaveta Chernysh.
