As part of the study of the discipline "Environmental Impact Assessment", 4th year students majoring in 101 Ecology and 183 Environmental Protection Technologies study the legislative and practical aspects of this type of activity, which is one of the mandatory for an environmental specialist. Within the framework of cooperation with the branch of the department - Department of Environmental Protection and Energy of Sumy Regional State Administration and providing practice-oriented training of bachelor's degree classes on "Conclusion on EIA" were conducted by specialists of this Department (for groups TS-81 and OS-81).
Postgraduate students of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies Iryna Berezhna, Dmytrii Berezhny, Serhiy Lutsenko and Ilona Yanchenko, headed by the supervisor Ph.D., Senior Lecturer Iryna Ablieieva in November 2020, received support for a grant project for cooperation between young scientists and students, funded by the Czech government and aimed at interuniversity cooperation. The project was approved by Dr. Hinek Rubik from the Czech University of Natural Sciences in Prague (Czech Republic), who is one of our foreign stakeholders among the academic community.
On the eve of the autumn holidays, as part of the month of local lore, teachers of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Technologies of SSU were invited to meet with students of secondary school №22 (grades 9-11). The topic that was chosen for discussion was the environmental problems of Sumy region.
On October 6-8 he VII Scientific and Technical Conference "New Directions of Research in Environmental Engineering, ENERGY, GEODESY AND FORESTRY" was organized by Department of Environmental Engineering and Geodesy, University of life Science in Lublin. The conference presented the results of scientific research on water protection, treatment and rational use of water resources, as well as eco-energy (biogas and biofuel production, use of energy crops), geodesy (application of GIS technologies in environmental protection) and forestry.
Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of Sumy State University, PhD Dmytro Laznenko and Senior Lecturer, PhD Irina Vaskina took part in the Ecological and Economic Forum "Successful Communities", which took place on October 12 at the Sumy State University Congress Center.
The Commercial Court held a discussion on the topic: "Judicial practice in environmental disputes regarding environmental protection: problems and prospects." The event was attended by judges, representatives of regulatory authorities and local governments, as well as representatives of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies of Sumy State University - Associate Professor Inna Trunova and Senior Lecturer Irina Vaskina.
The Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies holds seminars, where graduate students of different years of study speak on the topics of their own research.
At the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies regularly is carried out multi-year monitoring of phosphogypsum dump of JSC "SumyKhimprom".
Associated professor Inna Trunova and Senior Lecturer Iryna Vaskina took part in the interim partner conference under the project "Circular-based waste management" s invited guests from the academic community. The conference was held on September 15, 2021 by Zoom video conference.
