On February 28, 2023, a meeting of bachelor's level education major 101 "Ecology" was held with Deputy Head of the Department of State Environmental Supervision (Control) of Water Resources - Senior State Environmental Protection Inspector of the State Environmental Inspection in Sumy Oblast Vitalii Lytvyn. The guest lecture-discussion was devoted to the topic "Impact of military operations on the natural environment".

The international grant project "Follow-up Cooperation Training for Ukraine on Issue-specific Training "Industrial Technology Education" was completed, in the framework of which 9 scientific and pedagogical workers from the Faculty of TeSET completed an intensive educational course on overcoming barriers to Ukrainian engineering education during war Among the participants of the project is Assoc. Prof. Iryna Vaskina, senior teacher of the EEPT department, Ph.D.

The MSCA4Ukraine consortium has announced the results of the evaluation and selection of grant program participants. Funding under the EU's Marie Skłodowska-Curie Program is provided to 124 scientists from Ukraine to continue their research in 21 host countries. Scholarships were awarded to applicant organizations from the following countries: Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, Finland, France, Georgia, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and the United Kingdom. Among the scientists who received this support is Associate Professor of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Protection Technologies Yelizaveta Chernysh. She received a grant to conduct postdoctoral research at the Czech University of Natural Sciences in Prague as part of the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action grant program.

Maria Izmalkova, a bachelor's degree student (gr. OS-01, 101 Ecology), began her studies at the University of Liverpool, Great Britain, under the international academic mobility program, which is implemented as part of the "Twinning Initiative" program. Studies will continue during the spring semester (from February to June 2023).

Congratulations to Iryna ABLIEIEVA, Senior Lecturer of the Department of Ecology and Environmental Technologies, Associate Professor, and her scientific advisor, Doctor of Science, Professor Leonid PLYATSUK on being awarded the Doctor of Technical Sciences degree in the specialty 21.06.01 "Environmental Safety".

On February 16, at the invitation of Assoc. Prof. Iryna Ablieieva hosted an open online lecture by the foreign lecturer Assoc. Prof. Karin Tonderski (University of Linköping, Sweden) on the topic " Role of wetlands in the biogeochemical cycling of nutrients from farmlands", devoted to the International Day of Wetlands. The key audience was the first- and second-year students of study programs 101 "Ecology and environmental protection" and 183 "Environmental protection technologies". The chosen topic of the lecture ensured its interdisciplinary nature in terms of educational components "General ecology (and neoecology)" (wetland ecosystems and biogeochemical cycles), "Hydrology and hydrobiology" (hydrological and hydrobiological regimes of water bodies) and "Landscape science" (water landscapes – wetlands).

"Hello! I am Anastasia Eremenko, a 3rd-year student of the "Ecology" specialty. And today I want to tell you a little about my experience participating in the Erasmus+ academic mobility program. My mobility took place at the University of Life Sciences in Lublin.

The virtual mobility program "Sustainable Biotechnology and Environmental Protection" was aimed at improving the quality of education, meaningful exchange between teachers and students of universities of different linguistic cultures in geographically remote regions.

Associate Professor of our department, Doctor of Science, Yelizaveta Chernysh took part in the National Forum "Waste Management in Ukraine: Legislation, Economics, Technology", which took place on November 24-25, 2022.

In the period from December 5 to 22, 2022, Associate Professor Ivan Koziy is undergoing a scientific internship on the topic of "The implementation of the principles of the concept of sustainable development in the environmental protection activities of industrial enterprises - the EU experience" at the Teadmus Scientific and Technical Organization and the Tallinn University of Technology TalTech (Tallinn, Estonia).
