Sumy State University ecologists cleaned city park

On March 21 students and teachers of the Department of Applied Ecology SSU contributed to the beauty and order of the city park. Sunny weather and good mood allowed us for two hours to remove garbage from the site of 5 hectares (an area about the size of seven football fields 106x68 meters), and at the site of 2.5 hectares we boldly leaves. In general, it was a good job!

We would like to remind everyone: clean, where do not litter, and not where clean. Friends, let's protect the nature! :-)

The battery’s “Harvest” was taken for utilization

Hurraa! Two batteries and 128 cell-batteries was sent to utilization. Both of them will have a nice trip to Lviv. Farewell dears.

But we shall still be gathering a new harvest of batteries. Make your own contribution to save the Planet –Earth. Take your old batteries and bring them to the address Sumy State University, Central building, 1st flour,  left aisle, Applied Ecology Department. Need for batteries!

World Wildlife Fund WWF asks you to collect paper, magazines, newspapers, wrappers and boxes of equipment, food products and bring them to a waste paper items, and then send the honest results of your work. So Fund will know how many kilograms of waste paper for recycling you passed. During 2013 we collected 714 kg of waste paper. Can you do more? :)

Give a break to the planet!

On Saturday, March 29, at 8:30 pm people around the world will turn off the lights for one hour, Earth Hour, to show the need for joint action to combat climate change. Boldly, simply and easily, the action aims to demonstrate that action against global warming is necessary and possible. We must act every day, making small steps towards a future without climate change, a future in which all provided with natural resources, a future in which people live in harmony with nature !

Join Earth Hour! Turn off the lights for one hour on March 29th at 8:30 pm! Department of Applied Ecology is in business, AND WHAT ABOUT YOU?
